About Institute
Rural youth especially women have a dream to be Self-employed. With a view to make this dream a reality, Shri V.R. Deshpande Memorial Trust has set up an institute - Deshpande Rural Development & Self Employment Training Institute at Haliyal in Uttar Kannada District jointly sponsored by Canara Bank which is a premier nationalised bank with lot of expertise in rural Development. Haliyal is surrounded by various North karnataka Districts, which are striving for Development. The exodus of rural population to urban areas is a cause of concern. Such being the case this Institute would arrest the said trend by providing Vocational Training for Self-Employment to the rural masses with emphasis on Women Development. The Institute would go a long way to mitigate the problems of Unemployment, Basic Education & Entrepreneurship Development.
Our Vision
To empower the rural youth with the spirit of self respect and the power of self employment by exploring their ability and skills. To achieve this, the Institute shall impart quality education and training through real life facilities that will not only create Self employment opportunities for themselves and also to provide jobs to others.
Philosophy
Make rural youth able and capable to earn livelihood with self-respect and create their own identity through short duration courses, thereby bringing technology, training, discipline and credit within their reach.
Objectives
To create awareness among rural youth of alternate avenues available for their livelihood. Identify, motivate and train the Rural youth for self employment and self-esteem. To Encourage Rural Entrepreneurship Counseling of women force to create substantial impact in the Rural Society. Assist and Train the Self-Help Groups for women empowerment. Impart Entrepreneurship Training to management personnel.
Vision in Training
Deshpande RUDSETI has been established with a view to give specific training programmes on vocational priority. The Training programmes have been designed to meet the local needs and use local infrastructure and environment for alternative career. Round 60 courses have been designed ranging from 1-6 weeks of intensive training.
